"Every interview has centered around my SEO experience. I can talk about substantive legal work when most other 1Ls are talking about their part-time college jobs."
1) What was your favorite part of the Law Program?
“The guidance and mentorship from the partner firms. I came into law school with a better sense of what to expect and how to succeed when the job hunt begins. Also, the support of the SEO team. Having a group of people trying to ensure that you are successful is a real privilege.”
2) How has your experience helped you ?
“Every interview has centered around my SEO experience. I can talk about substantive legal work that when most other 1Ls are talking about their part-time college jobs. There is an emphasis on work experience in legal hiring in this market, and my SEO summer has given me leg up on a lot of other applicants.”
3) Did the program help you succeed in law school?
“The skills and preparation that I gained through the Law Institute have really helped me since starting school. Law school is completely different than undergrad in a number of ways and being successful here requires the cultivation of skills that many incoming students do not have. I would not have known this had it not been for the Law Institute .”
4) What advice would you give to a student who’s heading to law school?
“There is literally nothing better you can do this summer than spend it with one of the premier firms in the country. The relationships and contacts you’ll gain are invaluable during the job hunt. Also, spend time figuring out how law school exams work (the Law Institute is great for that) and structure your studying to maximize your results on the exam.”
